# Frequently asked questions

**Avocet CRM starts alongside your existing CRM rather than requiring a migration on day one, requests read-only Gmail access, sends a model provider only the minimum text needed for one task under zero-retention terms, costs from $40 per seat per month, and is not yet SOC 2 certified.**

## Does Avocet CRM replace my existing CRM?

Not on day one, and that is the point — you start without a migration. It becomes your system of record as the pipeline board, forecasting and task management ship, and only once the insight has earned that trust. Teams that get there stop paying for two systems.

## What size team is this for?

B2B SaaS sales teams of roughly 10 to 100 reps. Below ten, a leader still holds the pipeline in their head. Above a hundred, the problem becomes enterprise data governance, which is a different product.

## Will my email be used to train a model?

No. Model providers are contracted for zero retention and no training on your content, and each is named in our subprocessor list. Per-organisation opt-out is documented.

## Can the AI change or delete my records?

No. AI returns a typed proposed action that is validated, permission-checked, approved where required, executed, and audit-logged. Sending an email, deleting, merging, closing a deal and changing a financial field always require a human approval, with no setting to disable that.

## What Gmail permissions do you need?

Read-only. Avocet CRM never sends, modifies or deletes mail. Reading bodies is a restricted Google scope, so app verification and an independent security assessment are required before general availability.

## What does it cost?

From $40 per seat per month on Team and $65 on Growth, billed annually. There are no per-record or per-API-call fees, AI usage is included, and read-only viewer seats are free and unlimited.

## Are you SOC 2 certified?

Not yet. We are targeting a Type II report at around ten customers. Today there is a security page, a DPA, a named subprocessor list and honest answers — if a report is a hard gate for you this quarter, we will tell you we are the wrong vendor.

## Can I get my data out?

Yes, as CSV, at any time, without asking us. Deletion is also self-service and actually deletes rather than deactivating. Both are audited.

## Is this an employee monitoring tool?

No, and we have deliberately not built the features that would make it one. Avocet CRM reports on deals, not on people. There is no activity leaderboard and no per-rep email volume ranking, because a team that feels surveilled will route around the tool and you will lose the data entirely.

## Is there a mobile app?

Not yet. The web app works on a phone. A native app comes after paying customers, not before.
